September gives us an excuse to learn more about literacy, and Libraries. Give your favorite writer/editor a coffee (Send over a paypal to trollriverpub.com *hint hint*). Or read a new book over coffee in a library while sitting with your favorite writer.

4 — Richard Wright’s birthday
Who? How dare you! Kidding, I looked him up and here’s what he was about:
Richard Nathaniel Wright was an American author that took the plight of African American’s suffering discrimination and violence into his novels, short stories, poems, and non-fiction. Much of his literature concerns racial themes.

His “Uncle Tom’s Children” looks interesting.
Men can starve from a lack of self-realization as much as they can from a lack of bread.

Men simply copied the realities of their hearts when they built prisons.

The impulse to dream was slowly beaten out of me by experience. Now it surged up again and I hungered for books, new ways of looking and seeing.
